This article is created specifically about potential issues that may be faced regarding the Cam5 oversizing files that generate after the design is completed.
If you would like a more in-depth explanation about Ivoclar's set up process and the materials please proceed to this article:
About Oversizing:
The order setup selected by the lab is specific to how the Cam5 files generate, including the size. It will output to the specific files and sizing selected by the lab before it is sent to FullContour. Ivolcar's "Ivotion" two piece order setup materials/DME's are a new release from last year. There used to only be one "Ivotion" order setup materials/DME was specifically for the "Ivotion One Piece Milling Process." Ivolcar's previous two piece DME that also produced Cam5 files and the oversizing was not an issue. As Ivoclar has expanded more options have become available depending on the materials or mill they are using. The Cam5 files are only applicable and tied to Ivolcar's milling system.
Example of Oversizing Issue:
This is a great example of a case that had oversizing issues, and the teeth and base were milling out in different sizes. Looking at the order setup, it looks like they may have a custom milling option, or a milling option that is at least new when Ivoclar created the new Ivotion order material DME's. It does seem that the teeth and the base have two different milling sizes selected as shown in the images attached.
The teeth are "Cam5 (0.605)" and the base is "Cam5 milled teeth". We are not sure which sizing selection is appropriate for Ivoclar's mill and which is applicable to the specific mill they have, but the sizing being different between the two is causing sizing discrepancies.
The best thing to do is to reach out to your Ivoclar sales rep. for the correct selection that is specific to the mill they have.
