After you complete the scanning steps and mark the tooth, you can place the margin line by selecting the corresponding option from the workflow at the bottom of the screen. While setting the margin line is not mandatory, it can significantly enhance your communication with the lab. Follow these steps to set the margin line:
Step 1: Click the Margin Line icon. The software will automatically place a margin line around the preparation.
Step 2: If you are not satisfied with the automatic margin line, use the cursor to drag or draw the line to a more suitable position.
Step 3: To better see the margin line, switch to monochrome by clicking the Color button on the right side of the screen.
Step 4: It can be helpful to examine the margin from inside the scan by rotating to view it from beneath. Zooming in can also provide a more detailed view of the margin.
Step 5: If you are unhappy with the placement of the line at any point, click Undo to revert one step, or Clear to remove the entire placement. Clicking Auto set will restore the original margin line. Once you are satisfied, select Done.
