In this article, we will go over how to activate and use Trios Communicate for 3Shape Design Service Implant Surgical Guides.
1: To activate Trios Communicate for Clear Aligners, please log in to:
https://portal.3shapecommunicate.com/
2: After signing in, navigate to the “Integrations” tab, find Clear Aligner Design by 3Shape Design Service, and click on “Enable integration”:
3: We will send you an email asking you to confirm your request. Once we receive your confirmation, 3Shape Design Service will be enabled for you shortly thereafter, and you will be able to submit orders directly from Dental Desktop.
Steps to send a case:
1. Go to the Patients tab and create a New Case.
2. Choose the 3Shape Design Service Guided Implant Surgery Icon
3. Fill in the Communicate order form:
Select tooth number(s)
- Make sure that both the Surgical Guide and Implant Planning are checked
- Set up the delivery date
- Add case Instructions
- Additional Scans or Clinical photos if needed.
4. Import CT and surface scans. You may find information on the scans that we need for different types of surgical guides here: https://support.fullcontour.com/hc/en-us/articles/360059357971-Sending-an-Implant-Plan-guided-surgery-Case.
5. Set up Implant Planning parameters:
- Type of Surgery (Pilot Guided or Fully Guided)
- Implant brand
- Manufacturer
- Add some additional comments if needed.
- You may also specify the email address you would like to receive the doctor's approval link to, after this case is completed.
6. Send your case to 3Shape Design Service.
As soon as this Implant Planning is completed, you will receive an email notification with the approval Link and Access Token. Follow the link to review the finished design package:

Quality Control Images
Surgical Report
Drilling Protocol.
You may approve the design from there or send this case to Redesign.
