In this article, we will go over how to trim extra data from already taken scans and also how to refine them to remove artifacts:
1. Look at these scans; they have too much extra data, which could be a problem when processing for making models or could prove difficult to handle when designing:
2. To access the refining tool right click on the case and click "design":
3. From there, select the "refine upper scan option", and mark the 3 checkboxes or the ones needed, depending on your case:
4. After that, just click refine, and do the same with the "refine lower scan option"
5. Even after the refining there might still be the need to trim the scans, if that is the case, go to the "trim upper scan option" select the tool you prefer and mark the areas you want to trim:
6. After you have done the selection click on "next" to proceed to the lower jaw and do the same process, after both refining and trimming are completed you can click on the "save" option at the end right of the screen:
7. After the process the scans should look more refined and without any extra data:
