In this article, we will go over what is needed to send a LUCID case to us for design
Our LUCID Team has extensive expertise in designing full-mouth cases for crown and bridge orders with a focus on creating beautiful anterior aesthetics.
You will create the order using:
3Shape Dental System
Exocad
A 3Shape or Exocad order is a digital (CAD) project for creating dental restorations (crowns, bridges, implants) generated from scanned patient data. These orders contain digital scans and necessary prescription information, acting as the essential file package needed to design a custom dental appliance.
Steps to send a case:
After the order is created and uploaded to the 3Shape Design Service Platform, you will need to change the “design type” to LUCID.
If you are providing an approved wax-up, click on the design guide button and choose one of the following:
All parameters must be set using specific design guide codes related to our LUCID indication; this way, you can easily convey your instructions and fully customize your order. Default settings will be added when you see the code with a blue line in the border.

Additional information needed:
1. Case Attributes:
Name: Enter the name of the patient or pan/chart number in the name field.
Turnaround time: It will be predefined to 24 hours.
Additional Case Comments: You will need to fill in instructions that aren’t covered in the design guide selections.
Require Design Approval: If you are using a third-party manufacturing option, please check this box if you want to review and approve the files before they are sent to the manufacturer.
2. Case Instructions:
Design Type: Select the Design Type LUCID.
Design Guide Codes: Since we have design centers across the globe, typed instructions don’t always translate to what you are looking for. Our goal is to give you back your orders correctly the first time, so we created what we call design guide codes. Click Here to Know How to Add Design Guide Codes when Sending a Case
Destination: Select the manufacturing destination that can be “In House” or a third-party manufacturer.
3. Add-ons:
Model Prep: This option provides the customer with a modified model that can be used to print temporaries. For this service, the order must include a model. If you would like the scan adjusted or reduced to create the necessary space for the temps, this add-on modifier must be selected for an extra fee.
Note: A maximum of 6 units allowed.
Send the case for Design:
Click on the blue paper airplane to submit case by case, or click on "Send All Cases" to send several cases for design at the same time.
Once the case is designed, you will get it back for review, and all the files will be available for you to download.
